Two of our favourite ex-Coronation Street actors are starring in the stage version of Wuthering Heights from next week.
Rupert Hill (Jamie Baldwin) and Gaynor Faye (Judy Mallett) are treading the boards as Kathy and Heathcliffe at the Hull Truck theatre company in, er, Hull from 7 October.

I can't picture the two of them as the romantic Cathy and Heathcliff. He would probably suit the role but she's a bit long in the tooth though i'm sure she'll do a good job. She'll look like his mum!
If ever a couple need their heads banging together, it's Cathy and Heathcliff. Much prefer the Monty Python semaphore version!
What??? Totally inappropriate casting. Much though I love Gaynor, she is too old for Catherine Earnshaw and with all due respect to Rupert Hill, he is NOT a Heathcliff. And Edgar, perhaps, but not a Heathcliff. He's physically wrong for the part. Hope they prove me wrong though.
I disagree with Cobblestone & Tvor. Gaynor is such a good actress that you'd never believe she was older than Rupert, it totally drags you in. Also, Rupert is amazing as Heathcliff. A million miles away from when I saw him earlier this year in When Harry Met Sally. Excellent in both, he can clearly play a variety of roles realistically and with real passion. Well done to all involved with this production
