Coronation Street's Alan Halsall, who plays newly wed Tyrone Dobbs, has joined a team of All Stars who have accepted a challenge from firefighters in Salford to play a charity football match.
The Manchester Evening News reports that the match is being played for Steve Morris, who is recovering from injuries he suffered while trying to rescue a family from a house fire last June.
The match will be at Salford Sports Village on February 8 to raise cash for The Fire Fighters Charity. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children. They are available from Salford Fire Station. For information call the station on 0161 908 9703.
