Bollywood beauty Ayesha Dharker will join Coronation Street as Tara Mandal, daughter of Prem, who's a big noise in carpets. When Dev meets Tara he'll be smitten and ends up caught between Tara and her mum Nina.
ITV has confirmed that fans will see Ayesha on screen in September.
Bombay-born Ayesha has also appeared in Star Wars Episode II and Doctor Who.
And about the rumour that Shilpa Shetty would be joining Corrie? Have a look here.

Hmm... At least the actor who plays Dev (his name escapes me now) will have an interesting storyline, other than that of wierdo father to Amber. LOL
Just a thought, but I read on Digital Spy that some actors are getting paycuts... do you think it is so they can bring on these new folks and others like Shetty & Walsh?
Never sure about the paycuts and stuff as ITV never comment on them publicly, never. What you read in the tabloids (and on the Corrie gossip websites) is pure speculation.
Amazingly and quite by coincidence, I sat opposite the actress on a train at the weekend. Didn't dare speak to her though!
YOU DID!!! I would have been too scared to speak to her, though. Wow
She seemed nice but I was trying not to stare at her.
