Alison King in Reveal magazine

Anyone else read the interview with Alison King in this week's Reveal magazine (dated 27th March)?

Our Carla "reveals" that she has such hairy toes, she now has to have them waxed. Apparently, she shaved them (her toes) as a teenager and the hair grew back "coarser and stronger". I thought that the shaving encouraging hair growth thing, was an urban myth. Can any reader enlighten me? On second thoughts, don't bother.
Alison catches Coroantion Street when she can, but doesn't like watching herself, and says her sexiest leading man was Rob James-Collier. She also tells us that - wait for it - she has a "fat a*se". Yeah, right.

Trevor the binman - Carla or Janice?

So, who do you think Trevor the binman should be with then - Carla or Janice? From this picture today in The Sun they say that Trevor and Carla will go on a date and she shuns trendy wine bars for a proper pub crawl. But what'll he think when he finds out she's the Underworld boss and not the scrubber cleaner he thinks she is?

And what about poor Janice and the kittens?

Carla Gordon beds bin-man

Last week we reported that there may be a love interest for Janice. Well today, the Daily Star is reporting that that love interest looks like being one-way.

Hunky bin-man Trevor Dean is about to become the latest conquest for factory boss Carla Gordon. She pretends to be a cleaner at the factory when Trevor asks her out so as not to scare him away. When he eventually finds out the truth he thinks Carla has just been experimenting with him and he fears he will be dumped but Carla responds: “I think our experiment has only just begun, so fasten your seat-belt, lover‚ we’re about to take off.” Meanwhile poor Janice can only look on wracked with jealousy.

Carla Gordon returns and Tony's in court

All Corrie villains get their comeuppance and Tony Gordon's no exception. Inside Soap magazine reveals Tony gets his day in court before he's put behind bars. I wonder if he'll pop in and see Tracy Barlow for a cuppa in her cell? Now there's an evil pairing, if ever there was one.

Carla Gordon returns as Tony's banged up and she takes over Underworld, putting Hayley in charge. Go on, our Hayles! See, it all works out in the end. I do hope Carla changes her name back to Carla Connor, it's just so much her.

And as for Roy Cropper? Once he dries out from the Corrie canal, he'll be back behind the cafe counter and all will be well with the world.

The official ITV Corrie site has a video interview with Alison King who talks about Carla's return, watch it here. And The Life of Wylie blog has the inside story on filming at the Corrie canal with an excellent interview with Corrie producer Kim Crowther.

What do you think of Carla Gordon?

There's no ignoring her, that's for sure. But Alison King, who plays Carla Gordon, says that fans admire Carla on Corrie. I don't agree. Now then, I don't admire her for one minute and I never have. I'm a little scared of her and her presence on Coronation Street lends a dark side which intrigues me, but as for admiring, no. But never mind me, what do you think about Carla Gordon and are you glad she's back?

And is she (could anyone ever be?) the new Elsie Tanner?

Carla beats up Jimmy Dockerson

Carla's back and she doesn't waste any time getting down to business. Some of Alison King's first scenes after her maternity leave involve Robert Beck who plays Tony's henchman Jimmy. If you will recall, he's the one that ran down Liam and put the fear into Jed Stone as well. Carla confronted both men which led to her putting the pieces together about Liam's murder and Tony's part in it. Now she's back and she means business. In the course of filming the episode where Carla and Jimmy have a struggle, though, the actors got so into it that they fell off a table and Robert ended up with a sprained thumb and Alison got a few bruises, according to the Mirror! But we've also heard that Carla is going to be involved in a murder plot. Jimmy? Tony? Maria? or is that just the unravelling of Liam's murder and making it public? Stay tuned! It'll all unfold next month!

Alison King swaps baby bump for bikini

Alison King is preparing her return to Coronation Street as Carla Gordon with a photoshoot in her bikini. I'm sure that'll come in handy on those chilly cobbles when she returns to the Street this autumn. It's a photo to accompany an interview with Alison in Closer magazine in which she talks about her baby daughter Daisy May, her return to Corrie and to promote her post-baby diet.

"I'm going back to Corrie in September and didn't want to turn up looking completely different. The camera puts 10lb on you as it is."

Carla Gordon returns to the cobbles to kill

Spoiler of the week (so far...) comes from The Sun who say that Alison King has been asked to return from maternity leave a little early in order that her character, Carla Gordon can become involved in a murder plot. But who will she bump off?

Now then, here's the science bit. Alison King is due to return in the autumn and that's when Gray O'Brien, who plays Tony Gordon, is, according to the soap mags, due to leave. So she's coming back as he's departing. Yup, my money's on Carla killing Tony. Let's just hope she does it with a bit more class than caving in his head with an ornament after doing a lap dance round the living room in a leather skirt. You know who I mean.

Alison King, who plays Coronation Street's Carla Gordon, has given birth to a baby girl. The official Corrie site reports: "As yet unnamed, the little one weighed in at 6lbs 7oz. Everyone at Coronation Street send Alison and her partner Adam Huckett their best wishes on the birth of their daughter."

Alison King reveals Carla Gordon's exit story

How does Carla Gordon leave Coronation Street? Well, Alison King reveals on itv.com that it's a dramatic exit - a real cliff-hanger after Tony admits to her that he killed Liam. Alison also says that as she was heavily pregnant when her leaving scenes were filmed, there's a stunt double that does all the running around on the cobbles for her. I should think so to.

So, is Carla Gordon the new Elsie Tanner? You decide.

Is Carla Connor the new Elsie Tanner?

Strong, dark, mouthy, pushy, full of herself and nobody's fool, ready to put the world to rights with another lashing of lipstick.

Has Coronation Street finally found the new Elsie Tanner in Carla Connor? I'm starting to think that perhaps they might have.

Alison King films final Coronation Street scenes

Alison King, who plays Coronation Street's Carla "I'm going to turn you into an handbag" Connor has spoken about leaving the cobbles when she goes off on maternity leave. The actress has just filmed her exit scenes, to be show in February and PA News reveals that Carla has a huge showdown with husband Tony Gordon when she learns he killed Liam.

Alison will return to the Street but she is not sure how or when. She said: "Obviously it depends how long I take off, but the way it's been left open is just brilliant. Only Carla knows for sure what Tony's done so that leaves it open for anything to happen while she's away."

Carla Gordon threatens Rosie Webster

With thanks to Tony Stewart's We Love Soaps in today's Mirror magazine, here's one of the best lines I've heard in Coronation Street in ages. I don't know yet who the writer is as it's one of the episodes coming up on Friday this week, but by 'eck, it's a good 'un.

"I'm going to make your life a complete misery," Carla warns Rosie. "Cross me again and I'll make you into a handbag."
