Coronation Street Job Vacancy: Trainee Editorial Script Supervisor
This just in from ITV Jobs.
Trainee Editorial Script Supervisor – Coronation Street
Manchester
Coronation Street has identified an exciting development opportunity for a Trainee Editorial Script Supervisor.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate previous knowledge or understanding of the Editorial process, have proven drama experience (ideally Continuing Drama) and excellent attention to detail. You will train in all aspects of the role, before working unsupervised on your own blocks so that you can consolidate your new skills and knowledge. Following your 6 months of training, you will join the Pre Production team and work on a rotation, offering continued support to Editorial, between assignments to blocks as Script Supervisor.
During your traineeship you will develop the necessary skills to assist both the Editorial and Production teams in the successful and accurate delivery of Coronation Street’s drama production. This will involve preparing all aspects of scripts for the successful pre-production; production and post production of the programme. You will need to possess strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with cast, directors, editorial team, crew and post production team in a professional, diplomatic and supportive manner. At the end of the traineeship you should have acquired the ability to work competently in this role, gaining the necessary experience and knowledge to become a confident Script Supervisor, making suggestions and finding solutions to a variety of script related issues.
In addition to filming on location, you will also be shooting in a fast paced multi-camera studio environment, working from the gallery. Please note that working on location will involve working in adverse weather conditions.
There is only one Script Supervisor per block of episodes. As such you will be an integral part of that block, passing and sharing information across a number of people. You will also have the ability to self-manage your hours during your prep time, before working production hours during the shooting of your episodes. A high level of attention to detail is required for this role as you will be overseeing the script, and producing continuity notes, so accuracy is an essential requirement for the job.
From time to time you will be required to work on other ITV dramas, so a flexible attitude to work and a desire to learn new skills, is essential.
If you are interested in applying for this Traineeship then please apply with a CV & covering letter registering your interest.
Closing date for applications: Monday 10th December 2018 and you must be available for assessment on 9th January 2019
