When Peter Barlow turns up back in Weatherfield sporting the nasty gash on his forehead, Ken Barlow  wonders what he’s been up to but doesn’t get a straight answer from his son. 

Peter admits he has nowhere to stay. Ken relents and, explaining his trip, tells Peter he’s welcome to stay while he is gone - Peter’s grateful.
