Today we can confirm that an application has been made jointly by ITV and Continuum, the group who ran the Coronation Street tours. The Continuum website says that: "Following on from the success of Coronation Street The Tour, Continuum Attractions is working with ITV to deliver a new touring visitor experience in the centre of Glasgow."
Not only that, Continuum are now advertising for staff to work at Corrie on Tour in Glasgow. Confirmation of the roles is subject to planning permission being granted.
