When Tim said that Maddie's name "does what it says on the tin" on Corrie last week, it started me thinking about names that are used on the show to reflect the character's personality.
We've had Windass and Battersby to reflect the working-class bash-a-bout families.
Phelan is living up to his creepy, feely name.
Armstrong is one that is quick with his fists.
Grimshaw's life is indeed a bit grim, poor Eileen.
Barlow sets a standard at which one can measure success
The Tinker clan are a little bit cheeky.
Emily Bishop is saintly.
The Duckworths were always skint, worth nowt.
Can anyone think of any more first names or surnames that fit the character on Corrie?

When the character first arrived on the street, I used to think that her name "Fiz" was suitable as she was quite the 'fizzy' type, effervescent and bubbly, and feisty too.
Now her personality is so dour and miserable, she's kind of 'fizzled' out in my opinion.
Peter seems to have an appropriate name considering his current dilemma. :0
Mike would baldly do anything to win.
The name "Ivy" always makes me think of 'poisonous Ivy" and Ivy Tilsley could certainly be venomous much of the time.
Ina Sharple's personality was always to the point, and a sharp point at that.
Curly Watts was one of the few Corrie characters to have a light burning brightly in his noggin.

Fiz was the nickname they gave her because of her 'fizzy' red hair..not her personality, but you're right. She's such an annoying character now that it's just a matter of time before she drives Ty insane and he'll will be jumping into the sack with the poor waif that is Maria
