There's a Coronation Street spoiler in today's Star that says when Gloria Price returns to the Street, her new fella Eric - played by Timothy West - will try to seduce Gloria's granddaughter, Eva.
The Star says that in scenes to be screened in
March, Eric makes a play for Eva, giving her a bit of sleaze along with an expensive bracelet and saying he wants to sleep with her.
Eric tells Eva: “Gloria’s a stimulating woman, but I don’t love her. I’m going to call off the wedding. (Me: Wedding? What wedding?) I want to spend my final years with someone I have a connection with, somebody like you.”
I hope this spoiler is one of those jokey moments on screen that comes and goes faster than a hotpot on a busy day in the Rovers. Because if it drags on, it does sound pretty sleazy, but still should be a good role for Timothy West. I know Gloria has her knockers on this blog (missus) but I can't wait for her return.

Although not exactly the same scenario, there are strong overtones of the Blanche/Wally Bannister/Tracy triangle from 2003 here. To be honest, it doesn't sound great. I am really hoping that Gloria's character will have been fine-tuned during her absence to show more varied aspects to her character. If she continues to be annoying 100% of the time, she will still be a major turn-off for viewers - not to mention a shocking waste of Sue Johnston's talent.
I really hope this isn't true! Why must the main aim be to try and shock the viewers these days - I don't believe it pulls in more viewers and quite frankly, we've seen it all before anyway.
When Gloria was last in Weatherfield, most of her scenes were with Stella. Consequently, they were 50% rubbish. I'm hoping we'll see some great action when Sue Johnston starts working with Timothy West.
Oh nooooooooooo! Not Gloria again! Gawd, I can't stand her.

Can't wait for Gloria's return. This could play out fun if Eva doesn't take him seriously but has no problem accepting his gifts!
Another dysfunctional relationship. Imagine a couple turning up on the street, actually being in love and not making a play for someone else for at least ... well a fortnight. What a shock that would be!
The tittle puzzled me: Street turns sleazy.
Are you saying it is not now sleazy?
I don't like the character, and I'm not very into the actor, either. I had never seen her before on the royle family, so I watched it over xmas (btw, show is not my cup of tea). She's basically playing the very same role in corrie, imho.
De javu sorry what was that of yes de javu all over again and again and again can see the story unfold Eva is in the bar drinking away and in walks granny and new beau and next we see him giving her little gifts and furs all tacky items and she's really eating it up but doesn't tell granny until she has money and goodies and then kicks the ol boy to the curve or leaves in a limo in a tight red dress with the black bra showing at the back,,,, of yes can see Granny a bit taken back but we know Gloria will soldier on and Stella will just look as thick and boring as ever in the back round saying ooh and aah ...and meanwhile we viewers are looking for a chocolate bickie to help us through the episode.
Don't bring Gloria back. Awful character.
Not a fan of Gloria at all. However, we need something to do with Eva now that she's blown the whole Nick/Leanne romance to pieces.
