Samia Smith is in OK magazine this week where there's a gallery of pictures of the Coronation Street actress who plays Maria Connor. She talks about the time and effort she's put into slimming down after giving birth to her daughter last year.I wonder when Samia will be back on the Street as Maria - anyone know? She's currently suffering Mammy Connor in Ireland right now.

Women's mags are stuffed with boring articles about slimming after giving birth. I'd be more interested if this had been about how she'd et pies, gone really fat, stayed fat, and didn't care.
She is a lovely looking girl but I think Maria as a character has run her course. Yes she should definitely stay in Ireland.
WOW. She looks incredible. I can't wait to have Maria back. Her return will be pretty sensational by all accounts with Tony's escape. Can't wait.
@ seapenguin - I agree! Plus, when you're young and thin, and an actress, of course you're going to slim down afterwards. What's so spectacular about it? Just makes everyone else who didn't feel like crap!
I think Maria's great as an "accent" character. I enjoy her at the salon and there for her friends whom I enjoy (Kirk, Fiz, Audrey), but I just don't want anymore major storylines or the time being. I was Maria-ed out. Although, I miss Tony Gordon!
Hopefully Mammy Connor won't be in tow when she returns! Gah!
Samia looks lovely, a very natural beauty.
Maria is one of my favourite characters so I'm looking forward to her return - preferably with the in laws as they were great too!

Samia looks phenominal. I brought ok mag and samia said the wait fell of after she had the baby.She ait healthy food and couldn't excerise cause she had a cesearen. Plus she said Freya is a very active baby and doesn't like staying stationary.
Maria is my fav character, i cant wait for her return. Samia said shes back at work at the end of this month.

YAY Maria will be back soon - i can't wait. Shes one of the best corrie characters! Ant to people who say shes a yawnfest, well corrie is hardly setting the world alight at the moment. What it needs is maria and tonys return to shake it up! Peters storyline is good at the mo but most other stuff is quite boring such as carla and the binman - YAWN FEST AND THEN SOME!!!!! - but then carlas a boring character any way and too 1 dimensional.
