Annie Walker for me! She had class! Maybe I'll offend many, but I never like Bet, although I ranked her high, as she's a well-known figure. Peggy Mitchell, Amos Brearly and Den Watts are also favourites.

Yes, I'm for annie Walker too. One of the Beaumonts of Clitheroe. Doris Speed was excellent as the original soap snob.
There hasn't been anyone quite like Annie since has there? Maureen Lipman's bar manager, perhaps.
I remember Maureen Lipman and from what I recall, her character, Lillian? was a card board cut out of our Annie and I also remember that she was crucified by the critics at the time.
I think Maureen Lipman was wonderful as Lilian, shame she'll not return though.
