Preview of tonight's Coronation Street - Weds 26 Oct

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 26TH
CAN SARAH RESIST THE TEMPTATION OF GARY? Pleased with Sarah’s progress, her psychiatric nurse tells her that she’s now discharged. Bethany hugs Sarah, thrilled with the news. Having received a text asking him to meet her, Gary finds Sarah lurking in the ginnel. Apologising for all the mixed messages, Sarah admits she really wants him and they kiss passionately.
MICHELLE’S FEARS START TO GROW As Amy helps Steve build a cot for the new baby, Michelle struggles with her fears for their child’s future as they await the results of Steve’s tests.
PETER FEELS JUDGED FROM EVERY SIDE Peter begs Tracy for a chance to help out and make up with his Dad. On Tracy’s orders, Peter phones round the family breaking the news of Ken’s stroke.
ELSEWHERE. As Alya heads for work, she’s clearly stressed and confides in Sharif that she still hasn’t got the new embroidery machine up and running and Johnny’s unimpressed. Caz arrives back and makes out things didn’t work out for her in Nottingham. Kirk warns her Maria’s due back on Monday so she’d better be gone by then. Having become quite attached to Liam, Eva suggests he could stay with them until Maria comes home. Aidan feigns enthusiasm before having a quiet word with Kirk, making out Eva’s not cut out for motherhood and he should pick Liam up as soon as he can.

Mary and Tracy - a flowering friendship?

Already, I'm enjoying Mary and Tracy together in the flower shop. Todd and Tracy made a good duo, both of them seemingly cut from the same cloth. Todd and Tracy get each other. Mary and Tracy do not but yet, in the past few weeks since Mary has been working there, I've noticed that as much as Mary annoys Tracy much of the time, there's a spark, a real connection. Tracy even took on board some advice that Mary gave her regarding giving Ken her blessing to go on his Grand Tour (I hope he was able to get his money back for that!)

According to Corriepedia, Mary is only 3 years older than Tracy who was born in 1977 but Mary has always been more of an old soul and certainly gives the impression of being much older. While I don't predict that they will be mates, I do think Tracy may find Mary somewhat of a mother substitute, or perhaps an older sister figure, something Tracy needs. Mary is a strange being. She is beleaguered by her mother, has an adventurous soul, is a hard worker, apparently has had many off the wall experiences and she's got a very kind heart. I think this pairing could well be Corrie gold. What say you?

Halloween horror for Maria in Coronation Street

Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria Connor in Coronation Street, has been interviewed about Maria's upcoming storyline with Caz in Corrie.

When Maria comes back from that London, she's going to face a nasty shock in the flat...

Maria’s flat is a bloody mess, isn’t it?
“It’s in a state and there’s blood on the walls! At first, she thinks her brother Kirk has pulled a Halloween prank, but then she realises Caz must have something to do with it. But she has disappeared.”

So why doesn’t Maria report her to the police?
“Caz knows that she married Pablo illegally so he could get a visa. If Caz tells the police, Maria could go to prison.”

But the police come to investigate Caz’s disappearance…
“And Maria tells them that Caz has gone AWOL on purpose. She knows that Caz is a little crazy, but at this point I don’t think she realises just how unhinged she is. She is mortified when the police imply she is involved in Caz’s disappearance because she knows she has done nothing wrong. She’s also frustrated and angry.”

Then the stuff about her stalking Tyrone in the past comes out, doesn’t it?
“Yes and Maria is mortified again because she knows it makes her look bad. She tries to explain that she was in a bad place back then and isn’t the same person any more. But she soon realises the police aren’t buying it and she feels like they are gunning for her.”

Do Maria’s neighbours believe she’s innocent?
“Kate, Caz’s ex, is adamant that she is guilty and says as much to the police, which is really unhelpful. Fiz and Tyrone have told the police things, too, so all this convinces them that she has something to do with it. We will see that Caz has left no stone unturned in setting her up.”

How will Maria get out of this one?
“I really don’t know and can’t believe how bad this is for her! It’s just awful. The one person who is actually there for Maria is Aidan. He is trying to help her get a grip, but she is losing it rapidly as it really is getting out of control.”

Georgia Taylor starts filming on Coronation Street

Paparazzi pictures have appeared in The Sun showing "a woman believed to be" actress Georgia Taylor being smuggled into work on the Coronation Street set.

The Sun says that Corrie filming moved from the cobbles to a hotel in Manchester. And security weren’t taking any chances about giving away any clues.

Also being taken into the Manchester hotel was a Christmas tree. Make of that what you will but filming for the festive season has obviously started.

I wonder what Toyah's been up to, then?
