Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 25th Sept 7.30pm
Depriving himself of his ADHD pills, Max's unrepentant raging against Shona, Leanne, and Cathy's hair, continues. If he carries on, Shona won't have any hair left!. Also hiding behind some sort of repressed masculinity, Gary basks in hero-worship from the factory workers, following his 'saving' of Ryan from the 'muggers'. WE know he's a bad un, but they don't. yet. Adam's game of 'I spy' will surely come to fruition soon. His private detective just happens to have photos of the beating and the threatening of dodgy Derek. Surely Gary's secret illicit fights & loansharking cant stay secret from the cobbles residents, for long? Filling Imran in on the action, the solicitors head out to find Ryan.
Billy also receives a troubling phone call.
Asha's reluctant to audition from the school play, but Amy has already put her name down for it. These troublesome kids aren't half causing commotion on the cobbles recently. I prefer the old guard sat gossiping in The Rovers snug! What do you think?
Talking of which, Max and Adi have grown up that much recently, they both look as though they could get served in The Rovers!
With Hope's homeschooling failed by Fiz's under-par intellect, (sewing and antiques classes arent national curriculum, surprisingly) Roy is roped in to tutor the little firestarter, and much to Evelyn's annoyance. Feeling intellectually short, Evelyn offers Roy to a dual in some kind of 'quiz off.' I hope it's like The Chase, and Danny Baldwin (aka Bradley Walsh) comes back to host it!
Gemma and Chesney head for a scan and can't decide whether to name the quads after The Spice Girls or The Beatles? The nurse, however, tells them that one of the quads is a little undersized. I'm calling this story 'Quadrophenia'. As a northern soul fanatic, I should like that film, but I don't. Make of that what you will...
Over at Gail's (she's still awol by the way), Billy visits Shona and tells her that Max has been trying to sell his ADHD pills in the schoolyard. Shona breaks down under the stress of the troublesome teen's behaviour, and Billy offers his pastoral guidance (as always, love that guy)!
Ryan tells Gary all about the private detective out on his tail and he thinks that he's bluffing. Later, as he heads out of his den, Gary is caught on camera by the private detective!
What did I say about secrets never staying that way on the cobbles?
Keep an eye out for my 8.30 pm episode review, that follows this one.

In the photo of Max, Shona and Leeanne, the actress who plays Shona is quite large with child, they need to do a better job of hiding her growing bump. I can't help but wonder how they will explain her absence when she goes on maternity leave?
