Watch: Sue Nicholls - This is Your Life

With thanks to our blogger Graeme on twitter for alerting us to this little gem.

It's an old one but a good one. Does anyone know what year it was from?

Michael Aspel was on the set of Coronation Street when he surprised Sue Nicholls with his big red book for This is Your Life.

Michael surprised the actress who - at the time - had been on the street for 36 years playing hairdresser Audrey Roberts. Off-screen Sue Nicholls is married to Mark Eden who played the infamous Alan Bradley, father of Jenny.

We hope you enjoy watching this.

The episode aired on 29 November 1996. Though I must say Sue/Audrey has hardly aged in the nearly 20 years that followed...

There's also one of Bryan Mosley in 1997.

Thank you for posting this video. I love Sue's character, and I agree with Wim Lammens in that she has aged very well. She looks wonderful. Hope we get to see more story lines with her character in the future.

Watching that cheered me up last night, it's fab. Sue comes across as a really lovely woman. I loved how Mark Eden went in for a big hug with Barbara Knox too ;)

Thoroughly enjoyed this, especially seeing all the old cast members, such as Betty and Percy. Great nostalgia, and Sue came across as a lovely lady.

I once found myself sat next to Mark Eden in a mattinée performance of The Winslow Boy. I sort of half recognised him, but when the lady on his other side leaned forward and I realised it was the Divine Audrey herself! Hmmm? A truly lovely lady and one of my perennial favourites!

She had been playing Audrey Roberts for 17 years not 36 years if that episode aired in 1996.
