Katy Armstrong's top 5 moments on Coronation Street

Now that we know that Katy Armstrong is leaving Coronation Street, it's made me wonder what she will be remembered for.

Here we go with Katy's top 5 moments on Coronation Street, in reverse order.

No. 5. Um....

No. 4. Er...

No. 3. Snogs Ryan in kebab shop shocker

No. 2. Deflowers Chesney on the soft furnishings

No. 1.  Gives birth in a stable to baby Joseph during the nativity play.

Not much to show for four years of being on Coronation Street.
I think Georgia May Foote is a very pretty young woman of mediocre talent in acting.
I wish her well, I'm sure she'll go on to other areas of entertainment.

I have some sympathy for Georgia. I don't believe she has ever been directed ie: shown what to do. In her last interview, she said: "Katy has changed in the past few months. She's a bit more feisty and gobby now. I decided to change her because she was a bit of a wet mum.' Well, excuse me, but how was she allowed to independently change the personality of her character? Either nobody could be bothered to discuss her character so she used her initiative, or she was told and went her own way. In that interview, she said 'they have definitely picked up on that upstairs.' I certainly hope 'upstairs' pick up on what's happening on set. On this blog, we criticise the actors, writers and producers. Shall we add the directors to the list?

I don't think she was even given the chance to show her chops because it was all about Tina for the past 4 years. Say what you want but she wasn't given much of a chance. Really, they paired her up with Chesney and then did nothing until they decided to pair her up with Ryan. I hope she does better in her next venture than she ever did on Corrie.

You did well to think of 3:) As others have pointed out though, more the fault of The Powers That Be than the actress...

I wish she had been given more of a chance. I feel as though the writers don't know what to do with a lot of the female characters so they just stick them in a relationship thinking it's a story.

I will myself always remember whining she wanted a bey bey whilst still in school uniform. But instead of showing the hardships of young parenthood she wasnt given very much to do. Being part of the increasing dislikeable Windbag clan hasnt helped either. A small role in Downton perhaps?

No's. 5 and 4 were highlights of Corrie's 54 year history. They'll be included in compilation releases in the future and undoubtedly be part of BFI retrospectives in years to come.

Saw on one of the other boards that Ms Georgia May got a bit too big for her boots and so they re-negged on her contract. Interesting! But if true would show others that none of them are bigger than the show

I guess that's why Michelle's character is getting killed off...the producer changed his mind. Maybe she was a bit too demanding and as a lesson to others...out you go! Except if you're Bill R. or Mike Le V. -then you can do whatever you want.

And "what" exactly have Bill Roache and Michael Le Vell done that won't land you in court on a charge of libel?

Michael Le Val admitted to an addiction problem. Plus he has stank up the screen for years now.
Bill Roache is guilty of mass boredom. His laconic delivery, lackluster acting has been putting viewers into a coma for years. Bill Roache is a WMD-Weapon of Mass Dullness.

I like Michael LeVell & Kevin and always have. He has had tough time and I wish him well.
While I agree that Ken is dull I think Bill Roache sues people that say so! Ssh!

The night of the tram crash, when the nightclub was in flames, many of the residents, including Ken, stood out on the street in shock. Ken said "Peter's in there." I'm sure it was meant to be dramatic and all that, but he just looked and sounded peevish, as if Peter had forgotten to return some videos for him. That kind of sums up his performances right there.

He is now a "Soap Legend" he has a job for life. His performances are irrelevant (in so many ways). The original "Street Stud" is going nowhere - resistance is futile, like Ken.

I have to strongly disagree with Soo Mi that Bill Roache's acting is below par. He has been a great to me as well as a hugh inspiration. I am by nature skittish and was too jittery on the set. The producers had wanted to write me out. It was watching Bill act that lulled me into the laid back and docile performer I am today.

I agree with Soo Mi. I remember seeing Bill Roache respond to a crisis on Corrie, that was laughable in it's blandness.
