Harveys the Furniture Store are ending their sponsorship of Coronation Street after five years. Five years? Has it really been that long, it's flown over!
Anyway, this means that Corrie are now looking for a new sponsor to annoy us with their ads before, during and after our favourite soap.
Stephen Campbell, managing director at furniture retailer Harveys,
said: "Over the last five years, 'Coronation Street' has been a
fantastic alignment for us, but we feel the time has come to look for
something new. However, having contemplated long and hard about continuing with
'Coronation Street', we felt it would be a good time to do something
different and we are currently considering a number of options."
Harveys' sponsorship will end in January 2013.

Agreed. Their adverts are amongst the worst of any sponsor. Good riddance.
I wonder why theres a need to "try something new" when it comes to sponsors. Its not as if its some great adventure. Its simply sponsorship, advertisement, whatever you wanna call it. Its logical, not a day out at Disneyland (possible future sponsor???) "Trying something new" is what the actors say when they leave a show.
Although good riddance to the typical husband bashing ad we get each time the street comes on! Bring back Cadburys and their chocolate model of the set!
Husband bashin adverts seem to be the new rage - particularly in North America. Is this supposed to be the benefit of women's lib? Just makes me ashamed.
If they are actually trying to tap into the audience market for Corrie, you'd think they'd focus on food, bevvies, or clothing. At least something entertaining, not annoying.
Thank goodness for that. That is the worst advert on TV. I think it is in very poor taste, as the blonde woman acts so stupid and at times as if she is has dementia as she acts so stupid.
This, for any viewer who has a family member or friend who has dementia or any mental illness it must be very upsetting. It just makes me really angry that adverts of such a low nature are allowed on TV
