There's a sad article in The Express where Bill Tarmey reveals the real reason he left Coronation Street was because his son Carl was suffering from a brain tumour. The interviewer's byline is Nigel Pivaro. Anyone know if it's the same Nigel Pivaro who played Bill Tarmey's on-screen son, Terry Duckworth?

His Wikipedia entry reveals he is now a journalist (since 2006) and works for the Daily Star Sunday paper. So chances are it's him, I reckon.
Yes i think it is very likely him. I did hear he was a journalist now. That is a very sad story. I suppose it was easier for Bill to tell it to someone he knew and counted as a friend
Yes, it is the same one. He works for the Star but the Star & Express have the same owners.
I wish all the best to Carl.
He's supposed to have been a journalist for several years now but if he's working for the Daily Star Sunday then that's questionable.
Are you kidding? What are the chances of anybody having the same name? Its not exactly John Smith is it. Hope Carl pulls Through...personally I like the Daily Star its unpretentious and a good read.
