Post Office? What Post Office?
Is there or is there not a Post Office still in the Kabin? Inquiring minds want to know but cast your eye on this screen grab. That's the definitive answer then. No more Post Office in the Kabin. There was a scene a few weeks back when Joe was hiding from Rick the loan shark and we saw him skulk across the back of the shop. This screen grab shows the side of the entry door on the right of the photo and there's nothing behind Joe except merchandise. This is where the PO used to be. It's been like that for awhile, too, because I also noticed it in Canada's timeline just last week (April 2009 episodes). There has not been mention of it in the show but it seems like it's just quietly been dropped.

A pity it's been quietly dropped; they could have done a good story about post office closures. Or hired Horace as the postmaster!
Isn't it in the far corner? Just a counter. TBH, it wouldn't matter because Emily, Betty, Jack and Ken never mentioned collecting pension. It would be a change instead of 'I've come to pay for the papers'.
Don't pensioners get their pension straight into the bank now instead of collecting it from the post office? Could explain why no one ever asks for it.
No it's not in the corner, the camera followed Joe straight from the window right across the back of the shop and around to the counter. Mind you, i never saw the window before, it always was implied there were magazine racks there.
Ooooohhhhh...just one more mystery to add to the Cobbles' collection -- where are they hiding the Post Office? Same place they hide all the cars !!!
It must be in there somewhere, I'm sure they've still got the sign outside.
In New Zealand we are currently seeing episodes from Nov 08 and in the episode we saw last night Simon is watching postman Pat while Blanche tells him when the postman actually arrives and what he might do with the letters. She also makes a comment about the post office and that "?Mrs Goggins? would be hiding behind 3 inch glass and hiding a baseball bat under the counter, assuming that the post office hasn't been shut down."
So maybe the cabin Post office has been quietly shut down...
