Is anyone else warming to Dev's Uncle Umed? I almost hate to admit it, but heaven help me, I think I really am. I didn't have much time for him when he first turned up on Coronation Street but his comedy timing's improved, his lines are funnier (thank you, writers) and he's starting to light up the screen with his presence. Or am I deluded and dotty? You decide.

Nope, still not warming to him.
I think his double act with Dev is more funny than the character itself
Yes - Dev's fall guy straightman double act is giving both of them a new lease of life. Bet the comedy stakes get turned up further over the coming months with their on-screen anti-chemistry.
I agree, I love Umed and Dev together.
I like him with Dev but i can't stand his constant chatting up of the women. He's funny, though, with all his exaggerations about his business and past in Mumbai. Definitely a fraud.
I found myself almost smiling at something he said or did on Monday night so I quickly grabbed a pin and stuck it in my eye. It was a blessed relief. At least he's not as awful as Auntie Pam.

LOL! Hee hee - Poor Umed.
And at last! I was waiting for someone else to diss Pam - I can't stand her either. I think it's her overly powerful Yorkshire accent.
Ditto her suitor Bill the, "Ah were rahht about that saddle though", Webster.
I have always liked Uncle Umed, he really makes me laugh with the funny faces he pulls. I hope he is made a permanent character, he makes Dev less boring somehow.
I've always thought he was alright, he's a nice bit of light relief in the midst of a heavy dramatic scene.
How long has Dev's Uncle Umed been visiting Weatherfield from Mumbai? Has he outstayed his Visitor's Visa and will the Immigration Service soon be chasing him, especially as he is also working (illegally?) in the Corner Shop !!!
Umed's exaggerated hand gestures and facial expressions are fine in a Bollywood production, but in Corrie they just look silly ....
