Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 7th March

Apologies for the lateness of the review: my dear boyfriend insisted on watching some football match on ITV4 yesterday. Anyway, we start where we left off on Sunday with poor Abi going through labour by the side of the road. She manages to wave down a car who takes her to hospital where the nurse asks about her drug use and Abi lies about her name. The baby is born and put on a ventilator and whilst the midwife goes off to find the doctor, Abi takes the opportunity to disappear and return "home" to number 13, where Debbie tells her to leave and Ty accuses her of nicking the missing car.

SIMON - KELLY - CORONATION STREET - ITV

Meanwhile, Kelly agrees to take on more responsibility at the barbers as Maria's busy saving the world one recycled leaflet at a time. Now that Covid is allegedly over, I hope that we will be able to see filming in Trim Up North and even a resuscitated Audrey's again. I miss Vin Weasel. Anyway, Kelly has to rush off to her mum's to rescue her as she's fallen and therefore doesn't turn up to work and Maria goes mental. Isn't it a little harsh to put so much pressure on a schoolgirl rather than, y'know, David? Simon tells Gary and Maria what's going on and Kelly 'fesses all to them.

BAILEYS - CORONATION STREET - ITV

A newly shorn Michael worries about whether to include photos of Grace in his collection of pics for Glory's nursery. He decides he will - only for Aggie to remove them and Michael to get annoyed about that. All this blether about Ghastly Grace probably means that she is returning. It's upsetting enough that Imran and Emma are leaving without bringing back characters who are genuinely awful.

BRIAN - SAM - CORONATION STREET - ITV

Sam has fallen behind on his homework, which Nick blames on the chess and bans him from castling and checkmating. Well, we all know that chess is a gateway game to Chinese Checkers. I'm a bit worried that Sam is going to dye his hair red and develop a drug habit.

Oh and Daisy introduces anti-spiking lids in the Rovers, to Daniel's unease (and to Beth's pleasure as it will mean Fiz won't be able to sup from the wrong pint glass).

Jeanie (anon): Nick being upset over Sam's chess "habit" is hilariously ridiculous! As Sam says, he's learning a lot more about math playing chess than doing some basic arithmetic problems with the likes of Joseph Brown and Hope Stape. Seriously, are people with blue collar backgrounds really that threatened by an intellectual activity like chess?! And I thought Nick was Mr. Successful who had risen above his backstreet origins!Poor Natasha must be spinning in her grave to see what Coronation Street is doing to her clever, happy little boy! And now that he is a Platt/Tilsey...with all that legacy...Ivy, Gail, Martin, Gail, David, Audrey....
