And can anyone remember Corrie ever doing a dream sequence before in its 56 years?
As I'm posing this blog post as a Yay or Nay, which demands a reaction one way or t'other from fans I should get off the fence and make my own opinion known.
Therefore ... I think, on the whole, it has to be a Nay from me.

Awful:) So jarring and ill-suited to Corrie. Although I don't remember seeing it, I remember reading that back in the 70s there was a dream sequence featuring Gail Potter (as she was then). Anyone remember it?
A terrible idea, last employed by Bouncer in Neighbours.

Absolutely and resounding NAY - and take the annoying background music with it! Quit trying to emulate American TV, that's why we turn them off and watch Corrie instead.

I actually liked it as it was brief and a bit "Prisoner-esque." (Wow, referencing that TV really show dates me. lol) If there is an occasional experiment here and there, I'll say it's much better than the incidental music, which I dislike intensely. Now, with that said, experiments should definitely not be overdone. A very short dream sequence like that shouldn't be done more than once or twice a year. Just my opinion.
We saw Jack and Vera reunited in a dream sequence when Jack Duckworth died.
Nay. These tricks are used by shows to give us an idea of what a character is feeling but good acting already does that and if the acting is bad they don't save the story anyways; so, why waste valuable time on special effects?

I don't know of any other dream sequence in the programme of the nature that we saw the other night. I did like it though.
I thought it was well done and revealing, and thankfully brief. Would have preferred words and actions that expressed his terror but as Andy hadn't told anyone at that point, all we had was inner dialogue. Don't make it a regular thing, though. Ditto for the panto Pat dramatics.
I would only be on board with Corrie doing dream sequences if they were as jaw droppingly awful/amazing as Neighbours' attempts. Not just the legend that was Bouncer's Dream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3hlm1pm0mM) but also that episode where Clive got a bang on the head and imagined a Christmas fantasy where Plain Jane Superbrain was a fairy. INCREDIBLE SCENES.
I remember in Home and Away just after Bobby died, someone oрened the fridge door and the ghost of her came out, now that was shocking!
Also the famous Dallas scenario in order to get Bobby Ewing back, they decided that the fact that he had died had to be re-written. So, the next series he came out of the shower and revealed that the whole рrevious year's worth of eрisodes had all been a 'dream'! this of course meant a comрlete re-write for the whole next series, so the fans then felt they were now watching Dallas - the рarallel universe! - and don't get me started on Fallon in Falcon's Crest getting abducted by aliens! :))))

Fallon was in Dynasty. I think Falcon's Crest was set in a California winery.
I didn't think it was too bad. It was obvious straightaway it was a dream and it was short. I hate dream sequences when you can't tell it's a dream and it looks like something awful/amazing is happening then the person wakes up. urghgh
Hmm, a mild nay for me. Too much of Phelan glaring. I didn't pick up on it immediately, just thought it was a very odd opening for a few seconds. True, it wasn't overly long, which would elicit a very strong nay.
So cool that Corrie fans so closely watch & discuss odd changes like these. Really shows how dedicated we are! One gripe I have lately is some of the younger cast are starting that business of talking too fast and garbling words again. Gary (Mikey North) comes to mind, but there are other characters too. They appear to act like they're off-screen and not in a TV show with people watching! I love the character & actor, but enunciate a bit more, please. :-)

Although I didn't really like the sequence, someone smacking Рhelan with a рlank of wood is quite aррealing :)
Oh yes Fallon was in Dynasty - but this crazy event may have haррened to her in the Colbys (oh how the time flies - this was soooo 80's :))
Yes I remember now, the alien abduction was indeed in the Colbys, which was even dafter than Dynasty.
