We're supposed to believe (even if this is a soap opera) that a motor vehicle crashing through a wall somehow causes a cement floor to open up??? How can that happen even with the cheapest cement mix???
OK, I will forget all the contrived plot devices you could drive a pick-up lorry through, since they led to a cracking episode and the opportunity for some brilliant performances tonight. Corrie, I forgive you the three day wedding and Fiz's frock debacle and the daftness of Tracy in a cupboard: I felt this episode - the sadness of Carla's departure (wonderful Roy!) and the desperation and dread felt by Kylie, Sarah and David, I was completely drained after. More like it please!
I believe a vehicle could cause the cement floor to open up when there's a hole under it big enough to hide a body and Gail didn't pay for an extra sub-floor to be installed :)
The plot hole is bigger than any hole left underground under the floor. And I am getting sick of so many bodies being hidden underground ! Just to mix it up...couldn't they have hid Callum's body in the walls (I am sure the writers could have written this in somehow at the time...) and then when the truck hit the wall, the corpse comes flying out? Just sayin' ....couldn't be any worse than this hodgepodge, lazy train wreck ...I was expecting so much better rather than MORE.
I'd have to ask an engineer - if you use cement to seal a manhole, but you don't actually fill the hole underneath, thus leaving the top unsupported - and you crash a heavy truck through which hits the ground very hard, could the cement seal withstand the weight? I could imagine it would break, especially since it's hollow underneath.
Teared up a bit at Carla's departure. What a way to go - wracked with guilt and self-loathing, advised to try to love herself. Sad end.
I think the discovery of the body should have been set at night and that Carla's exit should have featured one last factory scene. It was a rushed exit.
And I'm still trying to figure out why they cut the scene of David looking down at the body (as shown in the trailer). The only thing I can think of is that it might have been seen as gory but isn't the line ITV use for BGT weeks that it's to allow more post watershed stuff?
Well said and I agree Lily Bigfield! Even the actors looked drained.
What baffled me was how quickly things moved with Cathy. One minute she's laying prone on the ground after being knocked flying, next minute she's sitting up in a hospital bed with a few bruises and a concussion, but chatting to Roy perfectly normally. And there was me wondering if she'd been killed!
I for one have stopped watching corrie. It's gone to far with hate deaths and fights we need something good. Life is to gloomy. Some body should be happy. Tracy get rid of the bad girl and let people get well. Life isn't all he'll fire. Some nice things please.
