It's been confirmed by the Manchester Evening News that the tours of the old Coronation Street Set on Quay Street, Manchester are going ahead for 6 months this year, starting in April and ending in October.
The new owners of the site are planning to do it as a group tour through the studios and the outside set where they will walk groups of punters through Corrie history, let them have a look at a few of the famous sets, the green room and even a few dressing rooms before letting the tourists loose on the cobbles themselves. There may be a gift shop and a cafe. It all sounds pretty good, to me!
It will be branded "Old Granada Studios" and looks to be opened in April though there is no word on entrance fees and hours yet. I'm going to be in Manchester in early April so I really hope it's open by then! I've been to the set a few times but one last chance is calling my name and if it's available, I'm not passing it by!You can see photos of my past adventures on the cobbles and of a few local Corrie events here.

I plan to go on the first day and every day wen i can i love corrie so much its the best soap in the world
I am from NZ but I will be in Europe in August, so will definitely add this onto my trip plans!
I am hoping it won't be fully booked before I can book.
This should get us into places that we weren't able to see on past tours - things like the actors dressing rooms and the Green Room - maybe the old make up and costume depts. I'm rather hoping they will have left things as a "dressed" set, but who knows? For the price they are asking, maybe they have? We shall see.
