From ITV.com this morning we hear from Kate Ford about Tracy's new storyline, her seduction of Ryan Connor. Tracy is devastated that Steve and Michelle are now living together and, after believing he led her on when she was ill, vows revenge. Nothing new there, then.
Kate explains that it seems like Ryan is only in it because it winds up his mother just as she is only getting back at Steve and Michelle. Kate was nervous, however, at the prospect of an on-screen romance with someone so much younger.
" I felt slightly out of my comfort zone." she says and adds that now that they're used to it, it's quite fun. We fans have been saying that it's a never-ending story, Tracy wanting Steve, and Kate thinks "I think it’s that old classic of wanting what you can’t have, I don’t know how she’d feel if she ever got him, whether she’d be bored after a year or two. I think it’s because she’s never truly had him that she’s so anxious to have him in her life. She can’t bear the fact that he doesn’t fancy her and he doesn’t love her."
It probably won't last too long but it'll probably have the intended effect on Steve and Michelle. How much do you want to bet Ryan's drug habit will then mysteriously disappear?

"Out of her comfort zone"? It's called acting ie doing something more than smirking and gurning. The last person who claimed they felt uncomfortable was Shobna/Sunita and with good reason. This story line is equally unlikely.
This woman is truly terrible, she should thank her lucky stars she is on the gravy train called Corrie instead of moaning. Why Tracy was brought back without being recast heaven only knows! I am sick of seeing her mule like teeth.
Oh my gawd, all those scenes with Tracy & Ryan were truly cringeworthy!! *shudder!* Lousy lousy actress. Always has been.
And yet another Tracy plot to get Steve - I actually moaned out loud, "puhleeeeez not again!!"

Fed up with this character. God knows how decent actors like Steve Huison, Rachel Leskovac, got axed under Phil Collinson however this awful character gets her contact renewed. Her storylines are exactly the same, trying to scheme against Steve and ruin his relationships. Bores me to know end. Her gurning and stupid grinning is irritating.
And its good to see she has reverted back to drinking not long after kidney infection, marvelous recovery. I really hope when a new producer comes in (we really need someone new) he/she will have the common sense to get rid of this character for good.
Rant over.
This story is so awful I took to watching with the mute button on. Then that only seemed to emphasise Kate Ford's gurning and smirking and Ryan looking ridiculous. Another massive fail from the Phil Collinson book of far fetched plots. Seriously, Kate Ford needs to go. There's a lot I don't like about the show but this, ugh, and having Tracy and wooden unbelievable Ryan front and centre takes the biscuit.
Well, not a lot left to say except that I agree with all of the above.
She hasn't changed any of her acting since day one..but then, neither has Steve..same gurning, grinning and frowning and the same storylines over and over. Steve/Tracy/whomever
I've decided Tracy has only three epressions. Evil smirk, hysterical crying, manic screeching. No wonder Kate Ford feels out of her comfort zone. Much like I'm not clear where they're going with Michelle/Ryan coming back, I really have no idea where Tracy can go after this.
That's a fair point, Nathan. I still don't know why Steve Huison and Rachel Leskovac were let go either. I enjoyed watching both of these actors and I still miss Steve's Eddie Windass.
I am also really struggling to understand what Tracy's purpose is in the programme, aside from being Amy's mother. I haven't enjoyed any of her storylines since her return at the end of 2010.
Quite simply, I've stopped watching.
I have to say I'm not a fan of Tracy (Kate Ford) either but that aside, I could never understand why Steve Huison (Eddie Windass)left either. Great character/actor. Infact I didn't know he'd been fired, I thought he'd just left. As for Rachel, whilst I agree she was a good actress, I never really liked her character very much, although maybe it's the way she was used and the 'yet another I'm pregnant' storyline to keep her man but this time trying to cover up the fact she'd 'got rid'. All rather ridiculous I thought. Oh well.
Eddie Windass and Natasha Blakeman were both far more watchable than the ample amounts of dead wood characters currently clogging up the cobbles. I loved Rachel Leskovac as Natasha and hope she might still return - hopefully with a child by Nick:) As for Steve Huison/Eddie Windass, he was just hitting his stride and was on the way to becoming a classic Street character when he was inexplicably chopped. Teaming Anna instead with the unlikeable Owen certainly merges their families, but their own relationship is dull, pure and simple.
Yes, I also really enjoyed watching Steve and Rachel's performances. Steve's comic timing was brilliant and despite their differences, I thought his character worked well with Gary and Anna. There were certainly some interesting dynamics within the family that could have been explored further and the humor was always balanced out with the more dramatic storylines. I'd love to see Eddie come back at some stage; surely he would want to see his son again some time soon!
I don't think the character of Natasha ever reached her full potential because of the lack of decent material she was given. She was always the 'dim hairdresser' and we didn't get a better idea of her character until her relationship with Nick. Rachel had a gift for both drama and humor; it's just unfortunate we didn't see more of it.
Eddie was just a fantastic character. I loved the mix of his grungy, slacker approach mixed with his heart of gold. His pride in Gary being in the Army was lovely and even now I can't watch the GBBO without checking to see if Eddie hasn't made it to the back row yet!
He had a fantastic interaction with Anna and I think the Owenanna tribe would still have worked even if Eddie had been around - all the interaction right now with kids/parents/hangers on is quite uncomfortable at times. Owen has lost a lot of his original sparky character since he took up with Anna and I find that relationship hard to take.
And Natasha and her 'Glambulance', well, she was just getting into her stride when the rug was pulled from under her.
Sad days. I do wish TPTB would look out of their ivory tower and onto t'cobbles from time to time to see it as it really is.
