Coronation Street actor Craig Gazey (Graham Proctor) will be opening the brand new Poundland store in Newcastle this Saturday, 20th February. Craig will be there to officially open the store on Clayton Street in the toon at 10.30am. He’ll be signing autographs, having pictures taken and giving away 50 x £1 Poundland vouchers.

I'm gutted because I live in Gateshead and would absolutely love to meet Craig Gazey but I'm going to a wedding in Cambridge on Saturday.
I think Kate Anthony (Aunty Pam) opens some of the Poundland shops as well and my friend met her and said she was brilliant with all the visitors.
I think the Kabin should be converted to a Poundland and several more people including Rita and perpetually unemployed but lovable resident bum Kirk should get a job stacking shelves there. The Cobbles should have its own Poundland -- sign of the economy! Perhaps also a launderette -- convert the Joinery Bar into a combination express bar/launderette -- get plastered while getting laundered...
