Some really sad news reported in The Mirror this week as Betty Driver's younger sister Freda has died after a long illness. This explains why Betty hasn't been seen on Coronation Street for a while.An ITV source said: "Betty will be heartbroken at losing Freda. She will be welcomed back when she returns because it is fair to say she is one of the loveliest and most popular cast members."

I am so sorry to hear this really sad news and i hope Betty will soon be feeling herself and return to work as i miss her character very much indeed and next year is a special year as Betty Williams has been serving behind the bar for 40 years
