As
the success of Coronation Street continues to grow, we are looking for a
Series Story Editor to join our busy hard working team ensuring that
every single one of our episodes is top quality entertainment.
Taking
the lead within the storyline team, you will be responsible for
developing and producing Coronation Street Storylines and liaising with
the Assistant Producer and Series Script Editor to ensure creative
coherence between story and script departments.
As our Series
Story Editor we will look to you to ensure that storylines take full
account of all the implications of the Coronation Street production
process, attend story conferences and work closely with the Series
Producer and Assistant Producer in steering discussions.
You will
prepare, supervise and edit the storyline documents, where necessary
working alongside the Series Producer and Assistant Producer, and to
ensure that storyline documents are completed and delivered to agreed
deadlines.
In this busy and varied role, you will attend Director
Meetings, seek out and assess new storyline writers if necessary and
carry out personal and development Reviews, ensuring staff are supported
and developed effectively.
The successful person will join us
with previous experience of storylining/storytelling on an ongoing
drama. You will have previous experience of managing and mentoring
creative teams and proven experience of creativity and developing
original ideas. Experience of script reading/editing an advantage. This
role may facilitate long and unsocial working hours.

They certainly need a new story editor as storylines have been week & dragged on far too long...tedious
