Meet the Baileys: Son Michael

Our blogger Ryan, who is on Twitter at @rybazoxo, met and interviewed all of the new Coronation Street cast members who are playing the new Bailey family.

Here in a short blog post are details of each family member, one by one.

Thirdly, we have the eldest son of the family, Michael Bailey

The actor playing Michael, Ryan Russell is probably best known (to parents of toddlers, at least) as a 'CBeebies House' BBC kids TV presenter (I had to have a selfie to show my 2 year old daughter).

Michael is the eldest son of the family, full of big ideas and get-rich-quick schemes. With cheeky chap charm and endless optimism, he is certain to be a hit with the Weatherfield ladies.

Michael is the apple of his Mum's eye (Aggie) and will be good pals with Tim and Steve (as assured by Corrie boss Iain MacLeod) having become part owner of the builder's yard, with his Dad, Ed.

  1. After last night's episode I dislike Michael already. Big-headed, dishonest, presumptuous (expecting to "get lucky" with Michelle). The rest seem OK though, except for Aggie's dodgy Lancashire accent. Ed sounds Southern, I wonder if that will be referred to. I suspect they have had financial problems, having to move from a lovely big house to a 2-bedroom terrace. I can't see two adult sons sharing a room. Is Nr 3 another one where the "front parlour" serves as a bedroom?
