There's a good interview with Stirling Gallagher, who plays Paula Martin in Coronation Street, in this week's fab Inside Soap magazine.
Stirling will be leaving Corrie soon to take up the role of Sgt. Ffion Talbert in Casualty, wife of paramedic Jan.
She says: I've have done Casualty three times, but never with the exciting prosthetics I dreamed of... blood pouring out, a leg hanging off, a neck brace! The unrequited wish list goes on!"
But will she be back in Coronation Street as Paula the lawyer?
She says: "I'm still heading back and forth to the lovely cobbles, but Paula's fate is in the lap of the Corrie gods!"
Find out who else is returning to, leaving, joining or taking a break from Corrie.

Another strong female character leaving. Corrie Corrie...why??? If a woman is educated and strong you do not know what to do with her. Better Paula leave I guess than to become what you have done to someone like Gail or countless others.
ReplyDeleteShe's actually not leaving permanently. When they announced this a few weeks ago, she linked to a few articles on her Twitter, saying that she was not swapping soaps but surfing alongside. She may have a reduced workload at the moment like Louiza Patikas who plays Moira. Besides, she needs to be there when Brooke Vincent returns from mat leave. They didn't have a proper ending.
ReplyDeleteAnon 15:25 I agree. Carla is another example.
ReplyDeletePhilip are you basing this on hope or rumor?
