Fiona Middleton returns to Corrie with shock news for Steve

There's a story in The Sun today, so as usual sprinkle it with a pinch of salt as it's from Mr Curry Sauce.

The story goes that Angela Griffin is returning to Coronation Street as Fiona Middleton - and she turns out to be mum to Emma Brooker.

Not only that, but the reason she returns is to tell Steve that he's Emma's dad.

In January of this year we speculated on this, along with many other fans. You can read all about it here.

And I'm so happy it's come true.  I love this so much I can hardly wait.

See who else is returning, leaving, joining or taking a break from the show.

  3. The fans were already talking about this very thing when Emma showed up on the street. Are the writers getting ideas from the fans now? Probably better than the tripe they've been turning out lately...Go fans!

As for Fiona taking twenty years....she was pissed at steve for ruining her wedding to the dirtbag Ian...she had her fill f steve and big jim to last a lifetime

  4. If they are taking ideas from fans when will they axe Gemma and Sean?

  5. This is a bit like Lloyd finding out he had daughter after many years.

  6. I like this.... has anyone worked out if the dates work out? Fiona already had Morgan when she left didn't she?

  7. Love the idea in theory but often these return stints don't deliver what they promise. The writers can maybe retcon that Emma came back to check Steve out and then thought better of it. I realise children usually aren't a chip off the old block, but Emma arrived on the Street as a sweet eccentric character. I wouldn't describe either of her parents like that! Fiona isn't around for long apparently so maybe the real story is about the news driving a wedge between Steve and Tracy.

  8. No no no, not another secret love child. Boring. Find a better story for lovely Emma.

  10. What a load of rubbish.

  11. I would rather see Emma as Jim's child, rather than Steve's. I see more potential for her as Steve's half-sister, and Liz's "stepdaughter" than the other option.
