Join Peter Barlow's Cigarette Poetry Club in Manchester

Coronation Street's Peter Barlow is many things to many people. He's a wayward dad, a drunkard son, a philandering husband, a useless feckless fella, a stud.

And he's also now a poetry club. Or at least, his name is.

Yes, the Peter Barlow's Cigarette Poetry Club is alive and well and in Manchester.

Peter Barlow's Cigarette is a poetry reading series in Manchester, providing a platform for innovative and exciting poetry from the UK and beyond. The organisers are Tim Allen; Joey Frances & Rachel Sills and they hold events in Waterstones on Deansgate in Manchester.

Brilliant stuff and more power to them!

  1. Brilliant initiative and a great photo. Captures the noir, 60's anti-hero elements of Peter which Chris G has developed. You could take Peter Barlow and family out of Corrie and develop them in a play or novel. Peter's an aging angry young man, and the son of an angry young man, which is why the dynamic between him and his father is so terrific.
