Carla disappears from Coronation Street

Carla is going to disappear, says the fab Inside Soap magazine this week. As the dust settles over Weatherfield, one person comes in for the blame for what happened at the factory - and that person is Carla.

After being questioned by health and safety inspector Wayne Haynes Carla is unable to face the locals and disappears for a few days.

Read all about the return of Wayne Hayes to Corrie.

However, her vanishing act only serves to add fuel to the rumours that she's behind the collapse of Underworld.

It's been rumoured this week that while Carla's away, Peter will be at his wits end and go searching for her. Unable to find her, he finds solace in the bottle instead and starts drinking again. You can read more on that here.

  1. Corrie has been promoting this storyline as Carla blaming herself over the death at the factory. Regardless of whether somebody sabotaged the roof or not, it was still inevitably going to collapse one day and Carla received plenty of warnings from Gary, all of which she knowingly ignored. Of course she's to blame!

  2. But cue Michelle who will eventually console her: 'None of this is your fault, Carla,' and remarkably it will be forgotten like the Polish worker who died at the factory.

  3. I wouldn't miss Carla one bit if she left the show. High time that factory was shuttered for good and a realistic business took it's place.

  4. Jeanie (anon): Coronation Street wouldn't be Coronation Street without the factory! Not a big Carla fan, but clearly she's not at fault if someone sabotaged it so it would cave in. As it was, it was leaking and a patch up job rather than a complete fix, is a bit of a waste of money, but there was no suggestion that it was all about to cave in.

  5. Totally agree Anon 20:51. Pity she doesn't leave for good. Ride off into the sunset with Peter and, joy of joys, Simon. More useless characters.
