The Return of DS MacKinnon to Coronation Street?
DS MacKinnon was the copper who led the hunt for Ken's attacker. She was bolsy and ballsy and rarely cracked a smile. That is, until her very final scene when she walked off with her colleague after having to let Daniel go free when Ken lied that he fell down the stairs.
That final smile set me thinking... have we seen the end to DS MacKinnon? I hope not.
As we know, Coronation Street are expanding the set and they are building a police station as part of the set. You can find out more on all of that here.
Let's hope that Sandra Huggett returns to the role of DS MacKinnon in Corrie on a more permanent basis. She could be Craig's new boss, perhaps, when the Bethany grooming storyline finally ends and PC Neil gets his butt kicked and gets nicked. She might just be the woman for the job.

That would be great! I'd love to see her be the one that jacks Neil into touch for his involvement and would love to see her rip both Neil and Nathan a new one for what they were doing to women and teenage girls!!!
ReplyDeleteI really liked this police officer. They don't usually stand out unless they are a character on the street already. I hope to see more of McKinnon too...there is just something about her.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Writers? Are you reading this?
ReplyDeleteI've mentioned this a few times elsewhere on the blog, but they've appeared to soften her look and manner in the last couple of weeks; and they also replaced her sidekick with a better known face. Although as a detective, I can't see her being Craig's boss, I can definitely see her being needed to bring Neil to book.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope we never see her again. Or if we have to, I hope they re-write her to have a few brain cells.
ReplyDeleteShe was AWFUL - had to fast forward her scenes. Atrocious - panto-esque at best.

ReplyDeleteHa, Emily, is that you?
