Corrie backs Michael Le Vell after booze reports

Coronation Street makes front page tabloid news today, the first Monday of 2016.  The Daily Star reports that the producers of Coronation Street are standing by Michael Le Vell, who plays Kev Webster, following reports he has started drinking again, two years after giving up.

The story in The Daily Star reports that guests at a party at Mere Golf Resort in Knutsford, Cheshire, were said to be "stunned" to see him supping a pint of lager as he chatted to friends. The paper goes on to say that this comes just two years after the actor entered rehab following his confession to a 12-pint-a-day addiction during a trial at which he was cleared of sex allegations.

Last night Corrie bosses insisted Le Vell’s recent behaviour had given them “no cause for concern”.

An ITV source said: “Mike continues to deliver professionally on a daily basis at work. All cast are currently on leave until at least January 4.”

  1. I very much like Michael and feel sorry for him..... The press has certainly hounded him and have hung him out to dry..... It is his business whether or not he has an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink.... Shame on the press!!
