Coronation Street actors branch out into film-making

Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt, is involved in a new film production company. Along with Ian Puleston-Davies, who played Owen Armstrong, and Ben Price, who plays David's on-screen brother Nick Tilsley, they have been busy making films away from their work on the soap.

Ben Price is the writer and director at Bolo films, with Jack and Ian acting.

The film company is called Bolo Films and their website is here.
Bolo Films are also on twitter here.

  1. Is this significant in terms of Ben Price's and Jack P Shepherd's contract? I thought actors weren't allowed to do other work. I'm guessing that they've been allowed less screen time which might mean less Platt time.

  2. It seems like the actors' contracts prevent them from doing other paid work - I know I've had contracts like that in the past. Bolo looks more like a non-commercial independent kind of deal, a vanity project for restless actors.

  3. More power to Jack Shepherd ~ he's the best thing about Corrie at the moment. From droll one-liners to utter heartbreak, he's always totally believable.

His impersonation of Audrey was hilarious.... I'm glad the reactions of the other actors in that scene weren't edited because you could see their laughter went beyond the script. And then his tears on the stairs....to quote my other favourite, Eva, (hurry back, girl) he's a belter!
