Online petition launched to get Cheggers on Corrie

A Coronation Street, and Keith Chegwin fan, has launched an online petition to get Cheggers into Corrie.

The petition, online at Change.org asks fans to vote for Keith Chegwin to join Coronation Street as Michael Rodwell's brother. Michael, as we know, is played by Les Dennis.

If you fancy having a vote, the petition is here.

Whether it'll make any difference remains to be seen, but it certainly made me chuckle.

  1. Here's hoping it has as much effect as the Clarkson one did on the BBC!

  2. A brother for Michael why? I'm sick to death of him as it is if he has more family that means more of Michael please no. I cannot stand the character at all.
Time to tell him the truth about Gavin and hopefully he'll drop dead of a heartattack and then we'll be rid of him forever.

  3. Keith Chegwin's quite a laugh as is Les Dennis. Bring KC in and, before you know it, he'll be a miserable old git as well. Result: waste of two good actors.

  4. I can't wait for Bill Nighy to turn up as Roy's long lost brother...

  7. The main consideration here is that Chegwin isn't an actor.

  9. Cheggers started his career as an actor, appearing in many Children's Film Foundation movies and also Roman Polanski's 1971 version of MacBeth. He may not be the greatest , but some of my favourite characters are the ones played by notorious over-actors such as Callum, Rob Donovan and on occasions Stevie Mac and Dave Platt !
