ReplyDeleteReally moving.
More tears in Canada here. Thanks for putting this up for us, or I would never have seen it.
ReplyDeleteSuch sad news to hear of the death of Anne Kirkbride. Lovely tribute by Granada TV. I came up to Manchester in mid 1997 and for about 6 or 7 months I had the priviledge and pleasure to take many of her taxi bookings over the phone. She always had time for a chat and a laugh. Once one of my fellow operators wanted to ask her a question about one of the storylines on the show and I apologised and said you must get sick of people asking you about those and other things, to which she replied, "No, we love it. Without our fans we'd be nothing. It's them who make us who we are and allow us to make a good living" or words to that effect. Sometimes I'd speak with her 2 or 3 times in a day as she was going to the hairdressers or to work from there or from her home. Always delightfully friendly and down to earth and will never forget her. RIP Annie. Really miss you. xx

I have been watching Coronation here in Michigan for 40 years. Anne and Deidre were gems. Shocked, saddened, and already miss her.
