In this week's Inside Soap magazine there's a great interview with Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn.
"There's also going to be a new character called Howie arriving. He's Tim's cousin. And will be providing much more fun for the Websters. In the past Tim's relationship with Howie has been incredibly fragile. They never see eye to eye and Howie loves winding up Tim. We're in the process of the final auditions for Howie and you'll be seeing the character on screen early next year."
Earlier this year, Coronation Street announced that Howie would be a disabled character.
Now then, wee already know that Michael Rodwell's son Gavin is going to arrive in Corrie. Stuart tells us a little more about the character of Gavin:
"He is going to fit in very well. Michael's biggest fear is that all his years of absence have left his son damaged and hating him. And at first it seems that way. But Gavin is an incredibly forgiving guy. He's very funny too and a bit of a charmer."

Yay. We need some new characters!
ReplyDeleteReally? Why get rid of Rob for these two new characters? Enough of the new influx, build on the existing ones. I am so going to miss Marc Bayliss' sex appeal when he leaves. Stuart Blackburn made a huge mistake getting rid of Rob.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Howie has taken on the 'Kevin' role of interfering in Tim and Sally's lives. Great, if it means Kevin, as SB promised, keeps well away from their relationship.
