With thanks to the fab Inside Soap magazine, there's news of a good storyling brewing for Steve and Michelle in the next couple of weeks when Michelle thinks she's pregnant.
Steve's overjoyed with the baby news because he's always wanted another child. But Michelle isn't keen - she doesn't want to become a mum again and she's happy when she finds out later in the week that it was all a false alarm. Michelle then suggests that Steve has a vasectomy and unti he does so, Michelle puts a ban on sex for them both.
Will this throw him into the arms and charms of newcomer Andrea? Simon Gregson, who plays Steve, tells Inside Soap: "He's furious about the vasectomy business, but knows it's one of those rows that won't last. But there will be twists and turns in Steve's friendship with Andrea..."

Geez, I hope he dumps that shrew Michelle and does take up with Andrea who seems to suit him much better than Michelle whose only claim to fame seems to be supporting her enhanced chest behind the Rovers bar.
ReplyDeleteWhy anyone would stay with a person that constantly belittles them and treats them like something they stepped in on the pavement is beyond me.
I just wish Michelle would GO She reminded Frosty of the wicked queen in Snow White with that long black hair and scrunched up sour visage. Her acting skills seem to be limited to shouting and arm folding but that is what you get when you use singers instead of actors. She is tiresome in the extreme with her shrewishness - get rid and get smiley Andrea behind that bar, she is dragging Steve down.
ReplyDeleteAs much as it feels like a huge cliched storyline, anything that gets Michelle out of Steve's life would please me. She dragged him down last time and she's dragging him down again this time.
ReplyDeleteGet rid!!!!! I am fairly shouting at the screen back at that harpy every time she appears! This story line is even more ridiculous. If he wants more children why should he get a vasectomy??? They are not even married and she seems to hate him. Who writes this garbage?!
ReplyDeleteMuch as I would be happy for Steve to find another partner, I hope he and Andrea don't pair up. She looks much more suited to Lloyd, who deserves a bit of light relief after the hard going with Mandy.
ReplyDeleteIt's too soon to recycle the 'No sex without a vasectomy' storyline. They did it last with Ashley & Claire. That being said, I am with everyone else who wants rid of Michelle, always hated her with Steve, and really dislike the way they are making her, Liz & Lloyd constantly ridicule him for trying to improve himself. The storyliners have such a down on higher education, and even if a character arrives with a profession or a good career, they usually take it away by turning them into a nutter or having them give it up for a love that won't last.
ReplyDeleteAs annoying as Michelle is (and SHE IS!) I am also irked by the way the writers are portraying Steve. His mother and "girlfriend" treat him like a naughty child, but it doesn't help that the writers have him act like precisely that. He tells lies, rather than deal with the wrath of the women, he skives whenever possible, and even his desire to "better" his education is motivated only partly by his wish to be a better father, and more by an attempt to avoid work. I used to like Steve, but lately he's been as annoying as Michelle.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't want any more children, he does, and he's supposed to get the vasectomy? This just proves how utterly inane Michelle is; a completely useless character who becomes less and less likable every episode.
ReplyDeleteThis is why we need reliable, fail-safe contraception for men. (Condoms aren't close enough to 100%) If a woman doesn't want [any more] children and has been taking the pill for so long that it's no longer safe, or wise, for her to continue, at the moment the only choice for the man is a vasectomy or abstinence. Theoretically vasectomies can be reversed, but in reality that isn't much of an option. It's a far greater demand on a woman to have a baby than it is for a man, so to expect her to accept his choice is unfair.
ReplyDeleteWhat is happening in the writing pool office of Corrie? The characters all seem to have taken nasty juice. Michelle should be pleased that Steve has got her a job at the Rover's she walked out of a good job at the factory office doing her high and mighty, and why is Liz siding with Michelle? I hope Andrea and Lloyd go out and see what happens they would be good together and we need some fresh air of a couple who enjoy each others company. Feel the writers aren't happy and dont care what is put over on the screen the only saving grace is the beautfully writen and acted scenes between Roy and Hayley that is the only saving grace.. I cannot believe the rubbish happenings between Tina and Peter sorry not believable especially as Tina is coming over as a little madam and not the independant woman she was showing earlier - reading that she storms off and gives Peter the untimation either her or Carla - sorry but Carla has more umph in her little finger than ginger skin miss....
ReplyDeleteYES I DO THINK MICHELLE CONNOR IS PREGNANT BUT NOT BY STEVE I THINK THE BABYS FATHER IS PETER BARLOW BECAUSE MICHELLE SLEPT WITH HIM THREE MONTHS BACK WITHOUT TELLING CARLA ABOUT IT SO TINA ISNT THE LAST ONE THAT PETER SLEPT WITH SO MICHELLE HAS KEPT THAT ONE QUIET I JUST HOPE THAT TINA ISNT PREGNANT AGAIN I THINK THE PERSON WHO KILLS TINA IS MICHELLE CONNOR BY REVENGE BUT MICHELLE FRAMES ROB OR TRACY BUT WHO KNOWS
