Alfie and Bet named favourite TV landlord and landlady

There's a nice story just now on the ITV News website about a recent poll by CAMRA - The Campaign for Real Ale, who asked 1000 people to name their favourite soap landlord and landlady.

No surprises that the winners were Corrie's Bet Lynch and Eastenders favourite Alfie Moon, played by Julie Goodyear and Shane Richie respectively. Peggy Mitchell came a close second for the landlady title, just 2% behind Bet.

The Great British Beer Festival takes place this week at Olympia in London. If you attend dressed as either Bet or Alfie, a free pint will be heading your way!
