The Sun reports today that Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, has returned to work on Coronation Street after her maternity leave.
A Corrie spokesman said: "We're delighted to welcome Kym back."
Kym will appear on screen in November. She is set to be part of the soap wedding of the year, with Michelle due to wed Ciaran McCarthy. But will they actually tie the knot?
Well. Aren't we the lucky ones.
ReplyDeleteUnbridled joy.
ReplyDeleteYay! Not.
ReplyDeleteYippy skippy. Will Ryyyyun remember to show up? Mommy & Daddy Connor?
ReplyDeleteOh no, is she really. With all her rubbish PR churned out day after day after day, I never thought she had gone.
ReplyDeleteWill you let me know when she goes again please?
I am pleased (although one of the minority here). Rather what Michelle than someone like Becky or Kylie.
ReplyDeleteI would choose Kylie over Michelle, even though I've never had a problem with Kym Marsh's portrayal of "Michelle".
ReplyDeleteDon't know what all the fuss is about, anymore than I understand why not many like the character of Antony Cotton's "Sean".
Now "Sian" I don't see the point of, and "Becky" I've gone from being sick of to just being glad she's finally going.
I have nothing against kym marsh but really dont see what all the fuss about her or her character is. TPTB put her up to represent the street all over the place so I imagine she fits in with what they think are their target audience. The snag is that Michelle is a character that they can only ever do 'relationship' storylines with. When they tried something different they ballsed up big time and ended up giving her two sons swapped at birth which was, in my view, one of the worst storylines in the 50 year history. She doesnt do humour so's you'd notice, has no sparring partner and will have no real ties with any other characters. Seems to me she has had her day and only wish that the producers would let her go and live it up in the west end!- Micky
ReplyDeleteCoronation Street must be an amazing place to live. Every young woman there is skinny, attractive, spot-free and dresses really well. Can we please have a young female character who is intelligent, witty, a bit over-weight, and trying to make something of herself. Her life would not centre around which bloke fancies her and which shop/bar will give her a job. Just one on the street would make a nice counterpoint to all the Michelles etc.
ReplyDeleteNo idea why either Michelle or Kieran would be drawn back to Corrie, considering neither originated from there and have little to no real connection to the Street. Kylie's character is played by a much superior actress and the role of town-tart is well-covered by Becky, Tracy, Tommy and Carla at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling Michelle's return may be tied up with Carla's storyline - and if so, then I look forward to it, as Carla is going to need someone at her side at the factory as the Frank storyline plays out. Michelle is ideal for that as she is one of the few people in the world Carla is prepared to open up to even a little. Michelle was around for the early stages of this storyline and was always intended to play a key role, so I'm glad she is being brought back into it just when Carla needs a friend the most.
ReplyDeleteit looks like all the fuss about her and her character are self generated by her own publicity machine.
ReplyDeleteShe should try and do one of those awful fly on the wall programmes as does the highly intelligent Jordan, Peter Andre and that bird in Big Brother and all those other silly game shows for D list celebs! You know ... the singer who can't sing but can do rehab well - Kerry Katona, that's it!
I think this is more suited to her than her role in Corrie.
By the way, why don't we see so much of Bill Webster? Now I like him!
