It's just under a year since Coronation Street changed it's outdated titles to it's flashy new ones, and added a new updated theme - Much to everyone's disappointment.
So one year on, and the new titles are already looking slightly outdated, with Nick's Bistro still being the boarded up Joinery, the Post Box still being the old version and D&S Alahans old Corner Shop still present. Is it time to change them again? and bring back the traditional theme?

ReplyDeleteThe trouble with having the Street itself in the titles is that, with the almost constant changes on the Street, they do become outdated relatively quickly. Maybe they should go back to the old way, and have random scenes of streets around Manchester.
ReplyDeleteI like the new opening theme music and the pictures. Who is the dark haired woman hanging clothes on the clothesline?
ReplyDeleteI don't mind having new titles, but what I object to is the irony of getting brand new ones ready for HD, then dictating that they should all be soft focus, to the point of being barely able to see what they are showing. They aggravate me so much, even after a year, that I barely notice any changes in the theme tune.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I wish they would change is the woman with the matchstick legs (looking a lot like Carla from the back). I worry about her every time the titles are shown. One stumble and her legs would snap like a twig.
ReplyDeleteLOL watch it anonymous above, dare to say anything at all negative and you will be called a bully like poor old Frosty!
ReplyDeleteI have grown to live with the titles but miss the epicness of the old theme. I have been hoping they would keep the titles but bring back the old tune!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that ^
ReplyDeleteThe titles are OK but the old theme was by far superior! I'd love to see the old theme brought back, keeping the same titles.
Another vote for the old theme from me.
ReplyDeleteThe titles should be updated when they move to salford. It should be less blurry as its too harsh on the eyes. I have got used to the new theme but would like the end of part one music (bap bap bap bap baaaaaap) reinstated.
ReplyDeleteand the proper fanfare at the end instead of the quickie!
