Bored with Barlow?

Having had a couple of days to digest not only the turkey but also the reappearance of Tracy Luv Barlow, I have a horrible feeling that we may be in for a dire few months. Maybe I'm out on a limb with this one. I just thought that watching Tracy ploughing through people's emotions was a totally joyless experience, save for feeling a certain amount of schadenfreude as the increasingly unlikeable Becky got her comeuppance.

Is it realistic to believe that Tracy has learned nothing in jail? Is it any more realistic to believe that she has a future on the Street? Over to you!

  1. I cringed when I saw her shoe hit the cobbles on Friday night. She's a horrible character. I really don't like that smug smirk she makes when she thinks she's gotten away with something. The way she behaved in the pub, toward Clare particuarly was hard to watch. I'd be thrilled to see her go back to prison. This whole plot seems really silly and unrealistic.

  2. She doesn't have a future. She's unredeemable and should never have been let out of prison. She'll be backed into a corner or cross another line soon enough and be gone again. If she's not dead New Year's, and i don't think she's popped her clogs just yet, i'm betting she won't live to see next NEw Year's and there will be another whodunnit but at least we will never have to see her again

  3. She is totally detestable and I cannot understand why they've brought her back in. Her atrocious acting aside, I think that watching this unrealistic character just makes me want to switch off. At least her return gets Becky off the hook for a while as my least favourite character, her selfishness knows no bounds and the thought of these two dominating story-lines for weeks to come makes me feel seriously depressed about the joy that used to be Corrie!

  4. I'm usually one to always support Corrie and the actors but I just can't with Tracy. It's just irritating and not in a good way.

Molly was horrible but the actress was phenomenal and you wanted to like her even though she was screwing up the Websters and Tyrone's family but with Tracy it just feels like meh we need some drama for Christmas let's throw her in.. I realize she is going be involved in several story lines but I just don't even care to see it.

The writing for the last 2 episodes seemed off the mark and cringe worthy. The 2000 years comment was so awful I wanted to throw my shoe at the T.V. I hope the actress changes my mind over the next few months or I fear I won't be tuning in as much.

  5. I cannot stand Tracy Barlow and if she is going to be dominating Corrie for a while I may have to switch off.

  6. Tracy wont be dominating Corrie as much as we think, I think they will start giving her to us in doses, NYE will take her down a few pegs, her return is too big, it's kinda overwhelmed fans

  7. It's been said before, but the idea of her having a future on Corrie is unrealistic purely because she should go back to jail after the retrial. But her 'future' will be tedious and cringy super rows with basically anyone, but mainly the McDonalds.

And I think she will dominate, unfortunately. Phil Collinson has said that 2011 will be Tracy's year, and since TPTB love Becky as well, it looks set to be overload IMO.

  8. Have to agree with the majority view, here. What a shame that after excelling itself with the magnificent tram catastrophe plotlines, the Street goes and shoots itself in the foot with the totally incredible return of a character who is totally unrealistically nasty, played by an actor who seemingly trained at kindergarten, spouting some of the most ridiculous dialogue you've ever heard.

    It's a massive turn off.

  9. No matter how much you hate Tracy, it has achieved one thing. It has people talking about Corrie.

After the tram crash, it seems at times as if nothing has happened, with most people just getting on with their lives as before. They needed something to keep the programme to the fore after the Big 50. Tracy is doing the job.

    now goes to take shelter!

Agree with everything above. Kate Ford's acting is appalling. Wasnt she brought back by the old producer though and Phil has to honour her contract, hopefully she will get sent down for good at her retrial or I think Corrie will be losing a lot of viewers, myself included. Who on earth thought up these ridiculous scenes and dialogue? Whatever you say about Corrie, the acting has always been first class and this pantomime is an insult to the rest of the cast.

  11. I must be one of the few viewers who's really enjoyed Tracey's dramatic entrnace back on to the Street.

Brilliantly done indeed and what's wrong with a bit of high octane melodrama to liven up the festive season

It gets full marks from me.

And as for those who grumble that it's not being realistic, it should be remembered that Corrie is first and foremost an entertainment programme and doesn't claim to be grounded in social realism.

And it's also nice to see somebody at long last finally getting one over on the ghastly Becky!

  12. I love Tracy! Kate Ford is great and makes a horrible character very funny indeed. More Tracy-luv please.

I absolutely loathe that bloody cow! They should have never brought that witch back to the cobbles.

  14. Agree with majority...Kate Ford should be shut away for crimes against acting. She's ruining this soap for most. How could they kill off talented cast members and replace them with Kate?

  15. I am dreading Tracy's return (we're 10 months behind in Canada). I loathed the character before, and I'm not looking forward to her return. The actress is frankly terrible, and the character has no redeeming characteristics. I don't enjoy watching horrible people get away with doing horrible things...
