Steve Huison, who plays Coronation Street's Eddie Windass, was featured in a piece yesterday that revealed he's a very talented artist.
Steve has been drawing since he could hold a pencil (so says he on Twitter) and he also does oil paintings, mainly portraits. He does not, however, do watercolour though the article mentions that. He's done a lot of pencil sketches and portraits and one of his paintings, of co-star Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) is actually hanging in the studio green room! Check out Steve's oil paintings here and his pencil sketches here. There are a few good self portraits in the lot as well.
And don't forget Steve's upcoming charity event, a bedpush from Bradford to Leeds for the Soteria Network.
Some very impressive work there.
ReplyDeleteAlthough not a fan of oils I especially like Whitby Harbour in Fog.
I can see why other Corrie actors would be wanting Steve to to their portraits; nice to see he's not just a pretty face.
I can't believe I never blogged this! I've actually been facebook contacts with Steve Huison before he was even on Corrie!
ReplyDeleteOh boy! He is quite the talented artist. It would have been nice for that to have been his "sideplot" as opposed to his baking. heh.
Great stuff - really interesting.
ReplyDeleteAlways wonderful to see what Corrie actors get up to in real life, especially when they have talents like this!
ReplyDeleteSteve has a very unique way with portraiture. I love his work with iPhone apps! Thanks for the heads up on his Flickr pages, Tvor.
