Helen Worth in Sierra Leone for ActionAid

Helen Worth, who plays Coronation Street's Gail Platt, has this week returned from a five day visit to Sierra Leone with charity ActionAid.

It says here that Helen is still clearly emotional about her trip which was filmed by ITV's Calendar for a three-part programme starting tonight. She said: "There is still a lot of work to do in Sierra Leone but I feel privileged to have seen it and to bring the message back and ask people, if they can, to help by sponsoring a child through ActionAid, as that is the only way their lives can improve."

ActionAid is an international development charity working across Africa, Asia and the Americas to fight global poverty and injustice. Visit www.actionaid.org.uk/yorkshire for more.
