FAQ: How can I become an extra on Coronation Street?

So, you want to be on Corrie? I'm emailed often by people wanting to find out how they can become an extra on Coronation Street.

To be honest, I don't know. And while there's no guarantee that this website could lead you to become an extra on Coronation Street, if you'd like to know more about auditions, casting calls and other entertainment opportunities on telly in the UK, then it just might be worth a look. You could also contact the Janet Howe casting agency too.

  1. You have to be a part of a casting agency. I act and ITV sent me a list of all the northern agencies who deal with Coronation Street. Let me know if you want it I might be able to dig it out.

  8. Hi, After joining casting agencies I finally got chance to film a scene as an extra in the Rovers. Best days work ever. Cast and crew make you feel part of it - even if its just for one day. From this I have gone on to do other stuff on TV. Its hard work, long days and you can't do it to make a living. But get some experience and one day you could walk the cobbles !

  14. If it helps anyone I've just been an extra. I did a bit of looking around noticed that the Janet Howe agency supplies some of the extras. It's changed names now to seven casting. I went through them. Really enjoyed it.

  21. Hi, I would like some info on casting agencies who work with Coronation Street. I don't have a lot of acting experience except in school plays at both junior and secondary school level. I'm now in my early 50s and am taking acting up with my local acting group. I would really love to be an extra in Corrie. If you have any agency contact details, I would really appreciate, thanks, Mark Highfield.
