Conversation Street Podcast Episode #756

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 25th and the 30th October (Episodes #11,969 - #11,973).

Halloween came four days early to Weatherfield this year for reasons best known to the Corrie bosses, but what tricks and treats did the show have in store for us? Well, the biggest frights were to be found at the Metcalfes’, where Sally’s Halloween caper took a disastrous turn when she accidentally smashed a vase over Lucy’s head! The fallout had some serious consequences for the family the following day, and by the end of the week, Lucy had made a few shocking discoveries of her own... Meanwhile, Gary found himself with a new cellmate as the writers finally decided that, after weeks of talking about Marco, it might be a good idea to actually let us see him again! But just what is Ross playing at with his attempts to worm his way into Gary’s good books? Also this week, Tyrone is goaded into giving Chesney a punch round the chops, Idris sets his sights on Underworld, and Adam gets down on one knee to pop the question to Alya.

We round things off with more of your listener feedback and, just for fun, a recording of Michael's wildly inaccurate predictions about what The Silence of the Lambs was going to be about, recorded on the journey to Oxford to see Mollie Gallagher in the stage adaptation last weekend!

We’re dipping back into the Listener Questions mailbag for this week’s bonus podcast, with two suitably spooky questions that we’ve been saving especially for Halloween week! First up, we're asked which Corrie storylines have been the most genuinely frightening. Whether it’s gruesome murders, nail-biting tension or harrowing moments that hit a little too close to home, we look back at the times when Corrie has really managed to give us the creeps and ponder just how scary a pre-watershed soap can actually get! Next, we stick with the Halloween theme as we investigate which Coronation Street location has the darkest history. From houses with sinister former residents to buildings that have witnessed more than their fair share of tragedy, we dig up some of Weatherfield’s most gruesome secrets and decide which location we’d least fancy spending the night in...
