Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 6th July

Coronation Street - Carl Kevin Abi - ITV

We're back to Issues in Corrie with Alfie being rushed into hospital with breathing difficulties, caused by the black mould in the precinct flat owned by one Mr I Nazir. I get that Corrie writers need to get inspiration from somewhere, but when it is too much from real life, it just feels like watching the news (although I did like the Canoe Man story repurposed in the demise of Joe "he's a good man" McIntyre). Idris at least has the heart to be worried about the mould rather than just paint over it. He and Brodie kidnap the previous landlord of the flat and take him to that bit of waste-ground that the location manager has used a few times before. We later see Brodie washing (presumably) blood off his hands and Abi sprags up Brodie to our Sal.

I presume this means Abbeh and Alfeh will be moving back to number 13 and eventually back into Kevin's bed (Abi, not Alfie).

Coronation Street - George Christina Summer - ITV

George and Summer have a heart to heart and seem to make up. Christina helps out with a brew but then gets a call and looks...worried? guilty? We later see her talking to an unknown person in a car, asking him/her not to tell anyone. Talking of reconciliation, Daniel and Will make up after some argy bargy about Megan getting into a fight in the big house, but Will doesn't visit Sam in the hospital, so that is an issue for another day (when the football is not on).

Coronation Street - Cassie Steve - ITV

Ty and Fiz talk about going to the pub and bunging £10 to Hope to babysit. This isn't going to end well, it is, although tbh, I thought Hope had been babysitting all the times Fiz and Ty have been in the Rovers complaining about their kids. Sassie (Steve and Cassie) join them and then Tracy joins in with a few barbed comments. Cassie takes this out on Steve: "I'm not saying you're the most stupid man in Weatherfield, but you'd better hope he doesn't die." There's a Scouse insult if ever I heard one. Cassie decides to take things into her own hands and proposes to Steve in the romantic environs of the cab office. Steve's response: "Why though?" Worse is that it's all overheard by Ms Barlow. In my opinion, Steve needs to move out of his ex-wife's father's house and Cassie out of her son and daughter-in-law's house and maybe into one of Idris's dodgy flats?
