Kev's family, friends and ex-wives assemble for an intervention in the hotel, but once he discovers a free lunch is not on the cards, Kev's not interested. In the meantime, Jack has decided he's moving out to live with Abi in the precinct. TBH, I thought most 15 year old boys'd be happy to live in a bombsite without being nagged to clean under their fingernails or tidy their room. I guess this is going to end with Kev scaling a building dressed as Spiderman. Or....has a suicide attempt, is rescued by Abi and there's a reconciliation? Also in the extended Webster universe, Debbie tells Carl that Ryan will be managing the hotel if she gets sent to chokey, much to his chagrin. I don't believe Ryan has ever stolen from Debbie - apart from that one time at the Bistro, and she was in on that.
Mal tries to recommend his electricianing to Dev. "Fast, efficient and always discreet," he tells the corner-shop businessman. Good job Bernie didn't sleep with him then. Bernie tries to get Roy to sack Mal as an electrician, but to no avail. Mal promises Bernie that he'll be gone once he's finished the job, but his sly smile says otherwise.
In the meantime, we've moved into the money controlling phase of coercive control. Theo leaves Toddicles with £10 as he goes off to visit his parents in South Yorkshire. Todd wants to go with him. "I've never been to Doncaster," he says. "You wouldn't like it" Theo tells him. Harsh! Mind you, the
last time we saw Donny, Mike Baldwin was collapsing there. Theo says
he'll show him the bright lights one day. The fish market? the Dome? the Frenchgate centre? Anyway, Todd has to use two thirds of his allowance on George's lunch and then Theo doesn't come back - if he ever actually went to Donny at all. I thought he didn't get on with his religious bigot parents?
Meanwhile, Jodie has made a cottage pie and is interfering with Shona's attempt to find her pops. I admit to fast forwarding the Emmerdale bits of Corriedale, so I'm not sure about the circumstances of Jodie's kidnap, but I'm assuming it was her dad rather than an abusive boyfriend. If so, would that be an official crossover? I'm hoping for a Patience crossover, given that James Bailey 1.0 and Peter Barlow have been in it recently.
