ABI BELIEVES STEFAN IS THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN Abi tells Kevin that she’s done some digging, Stefan Brent is a board director of the production company that made the documentary, he also owns the magazine and he must have created the deep fake videos out of revenge. Having reported Stefan to the police, Abi and Kevin watch as DS Swain drags him into an interview room, fervently hoping that their nightmare will soon be over. Bethany calls at the garage and tells Abi that she’ll quit her job if it’s what she wants, but it could be useful to have someone on the inside to keep tabs on Stefan. Kevin calls on Bethany and tells her that if she really wants to help, she can lend him her security pass to Stefan’s offices. Bethany reluctantly hands it over.

ELSEWHERE Gemma resolves to chase the landlord again over the new boiler. Having had no luck with the landlord, Chesney tells Gemma that he’ll look into installing an electric shower as they’re far cheaper than a boiler.
Having seen Felix off at the airport, Summer admits to Paul she was upset to see him go.
The occupational therapist calls at the flat and after quizzing Paul about his fall, suggests that it might be time to stop using the stairlift.
Regarding the boiler storyline, guessing this is leading up to Chesney's and Gemma's eviction. Private landlords are legally obliged to regularly service boilers so their deciding to install an electric shower is a plot device. The landlord said he'd made up his mind which was probably to evict them on some trumped-up allegation eg: noise or mess. Chesney is not a qualified electrician so is 'bound to' make a mess of it, thereby giving the landlord an excuse.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't trust Cassie as a caregiver, she's bound to rob Ken blind!
ReplyDeleteWhat was Steve,Amy and Daniel thinking?!
Well, what a shambles. Doesn't Ken know Cassie already? She's been on the street for ages. I am glad she at least told the truth about her lack of qualifications but she's not an ideal caregiver. No filter: who starts a new job on probation then proceeds to make fun of their patient's personal items?!
ReplyDeleteAs for Chesney's boiler, Bernie may have had a point about rent increases, but it was stupid for her to be so rude to the landlord. There's no logic in installing an electric shower, because they still need the boiler for hot water to the taps and washing machine.
I assume the eviction story was on a spoiler website? Do we need another homelessness story after Sean? Surely Social Services will come to the rescue? Or will they be depicted as useless like the soap police?
Why am I still watching?!
All Cassie does is make Ken cups of tea!
ReplyDeleteI think she's only been brought into it as a love interest for Steve.
I admit that I'm getting fed up of the Lee-anne, Toyah and Nick plot.
I feel sorry for Nick, as he deserves better.
I thought Ches and Gemma's house was owned by the council - then someone said fizz owed it.
Where are they going to go when they are evicted?
Joseph will go to Linda's new bolthole in Manchester, I expect, but I don't think the council will be able to re-house them in a proper house.
It'll be just be a B&B.
Is Jenny going to squash them in at the rovers?
I expect they want to do a 'Cathy come home' type of story, and with Paul worsening, it'll be upsetting to watch.
